FC-28 Soil Moisture Sensor Module (Resistive) | Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Compatible
The FC-28 Soil Moisture Sensor Module is a low-cost resistive soil moisture sensor designed to measure the moisture level of soil and other growing media. It uses two exposed conductive probes that act as a variable resistor. As the soil moisture increases, electrical conductivity between the probes also increases, resulting in lower resistance and a corresponding change in the analog output voltage.
The module features both analog (AO) and digital (DO) outputs, making it suitable for a wide range of microcontroller platforms including Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, STM32, AVR, PIC, and other embedded development boards. An onboard LM393 comparator allows users to adjust the digital output threshold using the built-in potentiometer.
Ideal for automatic plant watering systems, smart irrigation, greenhouse monitoring, agricultural automation, IoT projects, educational electronics, and DIY gardening applications, the FC-28 provides a simple and effective method of monitoring soil moisture levels. Since the sensing method is resistive, the exposed probes can corrode over time due to electrolysis if continuously powered. For longer sensor life, it is recommended to power the sensor only during measurements.

Important Note
